So there is a petition circulating for Ernie and Bert on Sesame Street to get married in order to promote early acceptance of homosexuality.
I think you know where I stand on this. I love how some people feel that the gay community is shoving our lifestyle down everyone’s throats when pretty much all you see on televison and films are heterosexual couples. If kids are allowed to watch a man and woman together, why should they be sheltered from two men doing the same. When I’m in public with my boyfriend, I get stared at like I’m some kind of sideshow at the circus. Usually kids point and stare and are surprised by what they see. So, I’m just holding his hand, or I happen to give him a kiss. But why is it so surprising to them? They have always seen two heterosexual people who are in love kiss before. What makes this so different. Just cause we are two men. Does that really change anything? In this day and age everyone should be accepting and aware of love. All I can say, is when I raise my own children, they will always know they have the freedom to be with any boy or girl they fall in love with, as long as it’s a healthy relationship.
